From milestones to moonshots: Operationalising our future
Building on our exploration of the global urgency that brings us to Bangkok, we now look forward. As the Global Sustainability Summit 2026 unfolds, the conversation shifts from the ‘Why’ to the ‘How’ focusing on the bold strategies and accelerators that will turn our 2028 ambitions into field-level reality.
As our global team arrives in Bangkok for the start of the Global Sustainability Summit this Thursday, the focus has moved from establishing context to defining action. The Summit will serve as a high-velocity working platform where staff, experts, and partners align on a singular goal: translating high-level strategy into measurable, systemic impact. This is the week where the roadmap for our next stage of growth is operationalised.
From foundation to future
Preferred by Nature has spent over 30 years building a strong global foundation. We have certified 36.7 million hectares and positively impacted more than 890,000 people. But in the face of escalating environmental challenges, this is not the destination. It is the launchpad.
We are using this Summit to activate our 2028 Moonshots – bold, systemic targets designed to move us from project-level work to transformative global change. Over the coming days, our teams will dive into the practicalities of achieving these four pillars:
- Enhancing biodiversity: Protecting and restoring 2 million hectares of managed landscapes.
- Securing fair revenues: Ensuring land managers across 5 million hectares receive an equitable share of value by combating value-chain leakage.
- The China lever: Driving systemic sustainability within the world’s most influential supply chain “nervous system”.
- Climate resilience: Integrating mitigation and adaptation to ensure carbon-positive managed ecosystems.
Scaling impact through our Accelerators
Delivering on these Moonshots requires a system built for scale. If the Moonshots are our destination, our Accelerators are the engine we are turning this week. We are moving beyond transactional engagements toward strategic alliances that embed sustainability into the core of global business models.
To make this system work in practice, we are embracing digital power. We are building an integrated, data-driven organisation where staff are empowered with real-time insights to make informed decisions.
By refining our client journey—aiming for a shorter response time and an NPS of 80+—we are ensuring that efficiency and quality go hand-in-hand. Together, these Accelerators operationalise our Theory of Change, connecting global expectations with verified results on the ground.
The human engine of change
Behind every hectare and every partnership is our global team. This week, more than 350 colleagues bring the expertise and local knowledge needed to drive impact at scale. The Summit reflects this collective strength, bringing together our “human engine” to break down silos and co-create solutions. Our internal culture is the catalyst; it is the engine that makes these bold, systemic goals possible.
Creating the best possible environment for our people to thrive is not just an internal priority; it is a strategic necessity. Ultimately, systems do not transform themselves. People do.
From ambition to action
The distance between global ambition and local solutions is where real change happens. Grounded in decades of field experience, our Moonshots set the direction, while our Accelerators provide the velocity.
As the work begins in Bangkok, the focus remains firmly on this transition: from milestones to moonshots, and from ambition to action on the ground.
